Do I need to register?

Yes, registration is required. However, your listing will be approved as soon as you follow the verification link in your welcome email that is sent when you register. By registering you can edit or upgrade your listings at any time. You only need to register once, no matter how many sites you submit as you can submit them while using the same login. Don't worry we only send an occasional email in regards to your account and/or listing - we dislike spammers as much as you do!

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is accepted by Paypal only in USD. Paypal securely handles payment by credit and debit card. No payment information is collected for FREE listings. Payment is only required if you would like to purchase advertising for added exposure or to upgrade your listing to a Gold or Silver membership.

What types of plans do you offer?

We provide three listings options as well as other advertising options

Gold Member

your listing includes a link to your site and long description of your business. Bonus page where you can upload your logo, add more information about your products/services, add product photos and site stats. Your listing stays at the top of your chosen categories.
You choose 10 categories for your listing.
Reciprocal link not required.
Cost: $15 annually

Silver Member

your listing includes a link to your site and medium description of your business. Your listing stays above the regular listings of your chosen categories.
You choose 5 categories for your listing.
Reciprocal link not required.
Cost: $5 annually

Regular Member

Your listing includes a link to your site and short description.
You choose 1 category for your listing.
Reciprocal link IS required.
Cost: FREE

How do I add my site?

To submit a listing you must first register and log in. If you have not registered yet, please register and then you can then submit your listing.
Select the main category you want to add your site in - main categories are Custom Websets, Premade Websets, etc.
Select Suggest Listing from the top menu.
Your listing page will load and you will be able to drill down (select the yellow folder icon) and select other categories/subcategories to add your link to, depending on the listing plan you choose.
The fields you will complete change with each plan you choose. Complete all fields, as indicated.
Select the Save Changes button and review your listing before submitting. You can select the icons next to each field to change a section of your listing.
If everything is the way you want then select the Suggest Listing button at the bottom.
Once your link is submitted, we will review your submission within 72 hours and you will receive notification when your submission is approved.

How do you promote our sites?

We are striving to be THE premier online marketplace for websets, designers and related resources. To that end we are always looking for venues that will bring targeted traffic to our website which ensures your listings and/or advertisements get maximum exposure. Over the coming months we will be adding our site to search engines, other directories and marketplaces, seeking partnerships and paid advertising in our efforts to promote your listings.

DIY Websets also uses a search engine friendly directory. All pages in this directory can be scanned by search engine robots and all links can be cached and assigned a page rank. All the URLs in our site are search engine friendly. They do not have variables and are indexed well by all the main search engines.

I got a category locked error. What happened?

If you receive a message saying that the category you are trying to submit to is "locked", you are likely in our root directory and will need to select one of the main categories ie. Premade Websets, Custom Websets, etc.

What does the star mean beside some of the listings?

When a listing appears in numerous categories and subcategories a star or asterisk appears beside the listing name to indicate it is cross listed.

How do I change the email I used for my account?

You can contact us and let us know your old and new email addresses and we can make the change for you.

I am unable to provide a link back can I still submit a free listing?

For free listings we do require a link back. If you are unable to link back then please consider purchasing an advertising option or upgrade to Gold or Silver membership.

My site used to be listed but now it's gone! Why?

Likely your site was removed because, during our regular link verification maintenance, we discovered the reciprocal link was removed or your URL was invalid. If an error has been made please contact us and we will get it corrected for you.

Advertising Info

I don't have a Paypal account can I still order?

Yes, Paypal does not require an account and you can just pay with your credit card. Paypal is an authorized credit card merchant.

When does my advertising spot expire?

Your ad begins the day it is listed not the day you submit your ad.

Do you notify me before it expires?

Yes, we will notify you a few days prior to your ad expiring and you will have the chance to renew your placement, start a subscription or cancel.

Can I renew before my expiration date? Will I lose the rest of my month/subscription?

Yes, you can renew your ad at any time. When you renew before your ad expires that next ad cycle is added to your existing ad cycle. For example, if you have 10 days left and renew for another 30 days then you now have 40 days before your ad will expire. To renew early please contact us and let us know your website url, your email billing address and how long you'd like to renew for and we'll send you a renewal payment notice.

Why do you charge for advertising spots?

Your purchase of one of our advertising spots gets you key targeted traffic. When you pick an advertising spot on our main page you are guaranteed to be seen by every visitor to our site! When you purchase a spot on one of our main categories you are being seen by customers who are looking for your type of business! We also pay for advertising on other sites to get more targeted visitors to our site which means more increased visitors viewing your site. Finally, as with any online business, we have our own expenses involved in maintaining and upgrading this site so we can continue to work on your behalf!
